Lessons and Instructional Programs
Most people play golf for enjoyment; and they get more enjoyment from playing when they develop consistency — the ability to hit the kind of shots they like (and shoot scores they like) more often. Therefore, my goal as an instructor is to help people enjoy golf more by helping them find consistency in their skills.
The way to achieve consistency is to develop skills that are simple enough to be repeated. This means a fundamentally sound setup, fewer moving parts in the swing, fewer planes for the parts
that do move, and hopefully fewer things cluttering up the mind. Playing golf well is not just about learning what to do — it is learning what not to do, because "less is more" in golf. Removing the extra and unnecessary parts allows each golfer to develop a simpler, more consistent swing.

Tournament Players' Series
This is a program designed to help junior golfers prepare for competition. Participants meet weekly from November through July, taking a break during the high school golf season (August through October).
A typical session lasts one and a half hours: 45 minutes of one-on-one instruction followed by 45 minutes of interactive games and competitions with other participants. The juniors earn points each time they participate, and each time they win a skills challenge. There are usually at least three mini-tournaments during the TPS season, when participants play for prizes, points, and pizza.
At the end of the season there is a group dinner with recognition of the season's top point-earners. Sessions usually cost $20, but tournaments, and other occasions (trips to the RMH Wellness Center, guest speakers, etc.) sometimes cost more. For the first time in 2009, there are two age groups in the Tournament Players' Series: the older group includes juniors who are in high school, and the younger group caters to golfers from roughly ages 8-12.

Fit to a Tee
This unique program represents the marriage of two important aspects of the game of golf: fitness training and swing instruction. It is being offered during the winter months at the RMH Wellness Center with the intention of achieving three main goals: more enjoyment of golf with an improved swing; increased ability to play
well (and without injury) due to physical training; and improved fitness for life in general.
Fit to a Tee was partly inspired by other national and local golf fitness programs, but this program stands out for a few reasons. Cost—you could easily pay four times as much for the same number of sessions in another program. Also, Fit to a Tee is being offered as a partnership between golf professional and personal trainer, not just one or the other.

The Fit to a Tee group moves from the gym to the driving range as spring arrives.

The facilities at the RMH Wellness Center allow golfers to sharpen their skills during the winter months.
Similarly, the golf part of the program begins with an extensive evaluation (including video) of the swing. Functional drills are designed to help each golfer develop new habits and a simpler, more efficient swing.
This program costs $499 ($399 for RMH Wellness Center Members) and includes 18 total sessions as well as use of the facilities for up to three months.
